He has awakened..... and he wants a shelf

Greeting again friends,

Today I'd like to reach back in time a bit and talk about when I first started to learn to crochet. I knew I wanted to make amigurumi more than wearables and blankets. Those things just didn't speak to me. Anyway, as I was learning I was also searching out patterns for things that intrigued me; Dragons, Creepy Halloween Creatures, Mythical Beings... you get it.

As I was searching I came across a designer, who has now become one of my absolute favorites, Crafty Intentions. I knew just by looking at the photos I wasn't ready for that caliber of crochet. I knew I had 2 choices: Stick to the beginner patterns or set a goal and push to learn intermediate and advanced techniques.

I purchased the pattern and set it aside until I felt I had learned enough. I set a goal and dove into learning and perfecting my work. Confidence built and here we are......

Cthulhu

Cthulhu, one of the Great Old Ones, was first introduced into fiction in 1928 by H.P. Lovecraft in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu".

It is said his existence predates humanity and I feel he will be here for a very long time. Rumored to sleep somewhere in the depths of the Pacific Ocean and will arise when the stars align.

He's a cosmic force that is simply larger than life, just waiting to make his grand entrance.

He's not waiting to cause chaos and madness..... He's just looking to make his presence known. Will it be with you? On a shelf keeping watch over your living room or office? Maybe he's waiting to be king of the curio cabinet, front and center?

If you feel the call of the cosmic deep, you can welcome Cthulhu into your realm.... He's ready to awaken....

Well, that's all for this week....

Stitch by Stitch, Story by Story...... See You Soon, Katie
