Dragons of Thread & Element: Tales from the Enchanted Stitch

Image
Greetings again friends,  Today I come to you with more elemental tales, in dragon form. I stumbled upon the patterns for them shortly after I found the Wisps. Just like the Wisps, these dragons each show such personality and whimsy that I felt I NEEDED to create them too.  Here's each one's story..... Fire Dragon — “Keeper of the First Spark” Among the elemental creatures, the Fire Dragon is the one that refuses to be ignored. Its presence feels like a story waiting to ignite — bold, bright, and full of momentum. With its warm palette and sculpted curves, this dragon looks as though it was stitched from living flame, captured in a moment of motion. Collectors often describe the Fire Dragon as a symbol of motivation. It’s the piece you place where you want energy to gather: a studio shelf, a reading nook, a space where ideas need a little heat to take shape. Though decorative, it carries a sense of purpose, as if guarding the spark of your next great creation.  ...

Erydor: The Little Forager of Forgotten Paths

Image
Hello Friends, It's been a little bit since I've shared a tale with you. I have been gathering more stories over that quiet time though.  Today's is another one of my little impkins, Erydor. He's my latest addition to the growing Impkin mischief (collection). Here's his story......... Eryndor in one of his favorite places Deep within the old forest, where the sunlight filters down in soft, wandering ribbons, lives a tiny wanderer named Erydor. Most travelers never notice him — he moves like a flicker of shadow, a rustle of moss, a whisper between roots. But the forest knows him well. It always has. Erydor was born with an insatiable curiosity, the kind that pulls him toward every hollow log and shimmering puddle. To him, the woods are not simply a place to explore — they’re a living puzzle, full of secrets waiting patiently to be found. Erydor believes that the forest hides its magic in the tiniest objects. A curled piece of birch bark. A stone split by time. A fa...

The Watchful Weave- Evil Eye Talisman

Image
Greetings!  Last week I shared something that was a goal of mine to accomplish. This week I am sharing a new to me project that I fell in love with. Over the winter I had made some snowman kits and had left over metal rings. I decided to research mandalas and wall hangings and found some beautiful ones (they are on my "to make" list) and decided to start with this Evil Eye Talisman. I've always been drawn to them so naturally I loved taking the time to make one.  So here's a bit about them and how they can help resonate calm whether you wear them or hang them in your most favorite places.  Evil Eye Talisman Some symbols travel through centuries, gathering stories the way yarn gathers softness. The Evil Eye is one of them — a quiet guardian meant to notice what we can’t. In many old traditions, a watchful blue eye was believed to turn aside envy, mischief, and the little streaks of bad luck that try to follow us around. In the Enchanted Stitch world, I like to imagine ...

He has awakened..... and he wants a shelf

Greeting again friends, Today I'd like to reach back in time a bit and talk about when I first started to learn to crochet. I knew I wanted to make amigurumi more than wearables and blankets. Those things just didn't speak to me. Anyway, as I was learning I was also searching out patterns for things that intrigued me; Dragons, Creepy Halloween Creatures, Mythical Beings... you get it. As I was searching I came across a designer, who has now become one of my absolute favorites, Crafty Intentions. I knew just by looking at the photos I wasn't ready for that caliber of crochet. I knew I had 2 choices: Stick to the beginner patterns or set a goal and push to learn intermediate and advanced techniques.  I purchased the pattern and set it aside until I felt I had learned enough.  I set a goal and dove into learning and perfecting my work. Confidence built and here we are......  Cthulhu Cthulhu, one of the Great Old Ones, was first introduced into fiction in 1928 by H.P. Lovecra...

The Elemental Wisp Collection: Magic in Miniature

Image
Greetings All, Recently I have fallen in love with Bamboo Rayon yarn. I love the silky texture and amazing colors found in the brands I use. The yarn works up small, making creating minis a joy. I have used it before in my Roses ( see my Crochet Roses That Last a Lifetime post for more about those) and after my experience with the yarn there, I decided to continue with it for special collectibles. First up are my Elemental Wisps. There are 5 total in the collection; Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Ether. Here's a little about each one....... 🌱 Earth Wisp Rooted in moss and mystery, the Earth Wisp is a quiet guardian of soil secrets and sprouting seeds. With its leafy feet and branched cap, it listens to the stories told by stones and sings to sleeping roots. 🌬️ Air Wisp Light as a sigh and swift as a breeze, the Air Wisp dances through clouds and dreams. Its cottony aura and sky-kissed smile make it a favorite among wind chimes and whispering willows. 💧 Water Wisp Gentle and curio...

Crochet Roses That Last a Lifetime

Image
Greetings Friends, Today I'd like to take a moment to share another favorite collectible with you all. Valentine's Day is next month and I know how popular roses are for it. I love them, honestly, but the fact that they wither and don't last leaves me feeling sad. I set out to create something special to help ease that sadness, Lifetime Roses....  Crochet Roses That Last a Lifetime Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and love is already beginning to bloom in the studio. While the world rushes toward bouquets that wilt within a week, I’ve been stitching something a little more enduring—crochet roses that stay vibrant, soft, and full of meaning long after the holiday has passed. Each rose is crafted petal by petal, shaped with care, and designed to hold its form for years. They’re perfect for anyone who wants to give a gesture of affection that won’t fade. And here’s a little secret: add a drop of your favorite perfume or essential oil to the base of the bloom, and i...

Aeris Ainsley and the Waltz of the Wind

Image
Greetings once again friends.  Today I'd like to introduce you to one of my favorite types of creatures, Impkins. Little is known about Impkins as they are shy creatures. They love to travel here in this realm as well as others, collecting odds and ends, keeping your secrets and dreams safe. Each one has a personality of its own and I'm willing to share a little of each one's story here.  So without further delay, here is the first of many. May I introduce Aeris Ainsley....... Aeris Ainsley and the Waltz of the Wind Aeris Ainsley is an impkin born not from soil or seed, but from the quiet spaces where sky meets thought. She formed during a twilight hour when the breeze turned cool and the clouds blushed pastel, carrying with them the drifting remnants of half‑remembered dreams. Those soft, wandering currents gathered, curled inward, and settled into shape—small, steady, and unmistakably alive. Though she walks rather than flies, Aeris moves with the ease of something sh...
